Expert-group: Genetics

Focus of research:
The design of genetic studies in the field of psychiatry as well as investigating the role of genetic variances and gene-environment interactions in the etiology, severity and course of psychopathology

The genetics expert group coordinates the design of genetic studies in the field of psychiatry as well as the choice of various genetic methodologies, choice of SNPs and genes of interest for the different research lines. Furthermore, it offers a platform for bringing together several disciplines in order to conduct adequately designed, multi-disciplinary and translational research to establish the role of genetic variances and gene-environment interactions in the etiology, severity and course of psychopathology and dimensions of psychological and psychiatric traits. The main focus is currently on developing polygenic risk scores.
